Being there for a person isn't just about doing what you think needs to
be done for them, it's about doing what they need you to do. Your efforts may truly be genuine and your heart may be in the right
place, but is it how YOU wanted to help them? Or how they needed your
help? Although a person may need your encouraging words, they may also need someone to physically be there for them. They may not need you to talk about what's going on with them, they may need you just to take their mind off of things. Don't assume that you know how to help a person heal. Make sure you try your best to do what they need, because they know what it takes to for them to heal better than you do.
