Change Starts Within

You've possibly heard that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Well, that is insane. You have to learn to do and be different in order to receive different. If you choose to stay inside your box of thoughts and actions, you'll mainly encounter people with those same thoughts and actions. And when you do encounter different, you will fail to realize because you're too wrapped up in your selfishness. You have to be willing to give in order to receive. What sense does it make to ask for someone who will treat you good when you don't have it in you to treat someone else good? In general, we attract what we put out. Meaning, if you're constantly attracting people who are not showing that they will care for you, it's probably because you are showing everyone that you aren't willing to care for anyone but yourself. How could you attract someone that's willing to care for you when that's the attitude you are showing off to others? You have to grow up and mature enough to be the type of person you want to have in your life. You may not get there on your own, which is why it's good to attract someone who can help better you, but no one can help you if you don't first help yourself.

It's like nothing will change unless you're humble enough to realize you ARE your "problem" and you ARE your "solution."

Instead of blaming other people or things outside of you, you must "change from within."

This post, in my opinion, is on point.

I guess the tough part is recognizing the level of selfishness you put out, especially if it has become a habit.

Thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to share this.

No, thank you for understanding it. I mean what you said sums it up pretty well. I feel as though people expect so much from others, when its often things they can't even expect themselves to exhibit
