I think people find a sense of security in "struggle". If their situation hasn't allowed them to excel and break free into a better reality, they think that's all they'll know and they learn to be fine with that. As if someone or something else holding them down is excuse enough to stop trying to attain better. Like, if something else is holding you back, you can't be faulted for not moving foward. That seems to be the way of thinking. You have to get to a point where you can be mature enough to take FULL responsibility for the actions that have led you nowhere. Because when you acknowledge that what you did either set you back (from moving forward) or kept you in the same place, you can put that out of your mind and move on to your next effort in getting ahead. Now I'm not sure where the problem starts with people, whether it's learning to take full responsibility or not knowing the next step to take, or just something else. But in taking full respons
